5 Simple and Powerful Ways to Practice Self-care

When asked the question, “Do you take care of yourself?” Most of us will answer “of course” – we even think, “What question is that? Of course, I take care of myself.

And if we ask, “how do you usually take care of yourself?” – That’s where people get lost and don’t know how to explain.

Self-care MUST be something you actively plan instead of something that just happens. It is an active choice and you should treat it as such. Add activities to your calendar, announce your plans to others to increase your commitment, and actively look for opportunities to practice self-care.

“Where do I start?” Well, I’ll leave here 5 suggestions on how to get started:

  1. Buy an adult colouring book and get lost in the pages.
  2. Participate in a practice that you consider spiritual. It could be going to church, camping, practising meditation or something else entirely.
  3. Create a vision board.
  4. Do something kind to a person you care about. Don’t tell her you did it and share your joy when she finds out.
  5. Give yourself a day of a spa at home.
